"Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" I write this testimony because I have a deep desire to praise God "for his goodness" and to let others know a little of the proof I have had of "his wonderful works to the children of men."
When I took up the study of Christian Science I had been a medical nurse for seven years. I had been ill for some months with a complete muscular breakdown and nervous prostration. One doctor had said I had better give up the thought of returning to nursing as the heart was affected. I was surrounded with illness in the family, and my outlook on life was one of discouragement and fear. I asked a Christian Science practitioner for treatment and studied as earnestly as I could. I began to improve slowly. I shall never forget the way my human needs were met during this time. I had my own living to earn, and a way was very soon opened for me to do this. I greatly desired to attend the Christian Science services, although I could not walk much; and the house I was sent to was within two minutes' walk of a Christian Science church. Because of weakness I could not do much work; but very little was asked of me, and I was enabled to do what was required. Although I was working for people who were not interested in Christian Science, I was always given the time for study and attendance at the services. My cup was overflowing with blessings, and I was indeed grateful for this proof of divine Love's care for His children.
Although my healing was slow there was steady improvement all the way, and the full healing was realized in time. Since then the joy of health, supply, and work has been mine in ever increasing measure.
