As I listened to the reading of the Tenets of Christian Science,...

As I listened to the reading of the Tenets of Christian Science, as given by Mrs. Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 497) and the Church Manual (pp. 15, 16), the sixth greatly impressed me. It shows clearly what our Leader desires of us: "And we solemnly promise to watch, and pray for that Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus." My attention was then called to an article upon this same thought in a Christian Science Sentinel. The beautiful characteristics of the Mind of Christ were shown to exclude hatred, selfishness, and all other false beliefs. While thinking and acting rightly, we cannot judge or condemn another, but we can realize man's real selfhood, and so can prove that he is the reflection of Love! Only in this way can we demonstrate that "Love is the liberator" (Science and Health, p. 225), and restore harmony to all. I am especially grateful for the help received through that article, as it accompanied treatment in Christian Science. The case was kidney trouble of some weeks' duration; the usual symptoms were manifested and seemed very obdurate. As I failed to overcome the difficulty myself, the condition was told another and help asked for. Christian Science treatment was given and the healing was almost instantaneous. The physical manifestation of disease and depression were healed when thoughts of worry over the problems of dear ones and hatred of those who I thought caused their trouble were uncovered and destroyed.

I am very glad to express my gratitude for this healing, so lovingly accomplished by the understanding of one who truly shows forth that Mind which was in Christ Jesus.
