Aids to Success

Christian Science is vital Christianity, and is the Science thereof. It is Science for all the reasons which enter into the meaning of this word. For one reason, Christian Science is Science because it is scientific or systematic in method. Thus, it helps its adherents to employ appropriate and orderly methods for the achievement of all good results. This Science, therefore, is useful far beyond what is commonly regarded as the field of religion; it is useful in secular vocations; it is useful in all work that is consistent with the Christian standard.

The first aid to success in any work is the mental ability which it requires. The importance of this factor increases with the importance of the work, but there is no employment or occupation which does not require some degree of mental ability. Further, the extent of one's success in any business or vocation is likely to be measured by his mental aptitude or capacity for it. Happily for all, aptitude can be acquired; ability can be developed.

Then, on what basis can one get and use the mental ability which is requisite for success in any particular work? Here is an exceedingly valuable question. Christian Science answers it by teaching that the real man has perfect ability in God, divine Mind, for every good use, and that a human only needs to assert and realize this truth in order to get the benefits which result from man's mental unity with infinite Mind. The idea that the real man has perfect ability in God for every good use is a basic truth always available for instant use in any business or service which is fit for a Christian. The demonstration of this truth can either facilitate or supersede the human process called learning.
