What gratitude comes to one, when contemplating a...
What gratitude comes to one, when contemplating a spiritual healing, through realization of the joyful fact that God is the Physician, and that sin, sickness, and death quail before Truth, and utterly fade away as the revelations of Christian Science are accepted, understood, and demonstrated! It is therefore a happy privilege to testify to the direct healing power of Spirit.
Years of suffering, due to a nervous breakdown, resulted in a condition which at length became ripe for destruction, "man's extremity" indeed becoming "God's opportunity." I had been working with no great degree of success at various jobs which led to an office position in Chicago. Here the same discouraging condition of health presented itself, until I determined to go away in some direction, it mattered not where. At this time an elder brother was living at Bloomington, Illinois, so I purchased a ticket to this destination. This ticket proved to be the means I was led to find a way out of the world of matter to the beginning of an understanding of the world of Spirit. Upon meeting my brother's employer and being hospitably entertained by him, I discovered that I had walked into a Christian Science home, and there I literally drank in the truths of Christian Science. It was indeed a wellspring of life which had been found, and I have felt that I was divinely led to it.
Since then much gratitude has come for the healing of the condition mentioned above and other difficulties, and for the continual unfoldment of the love of God. While I was reading a Christian Science Sentinel one day my glasses were removed, as they were not clear. After wiping the lenses I replaced them, but still something was not right. I tried reading without them, and there before me was the perfect focus. My vision was restored! The glasses had been worn for reading purposes about five years. Headaches have also been overcome, as well as other ailments.
