"These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it." These words kept running through my thought after I took up the study of Christian Science. I was healed of nervous prostration and heart trouble after the doctor had said I could live only three days. If I lived longer, he said, I should be helpless; but Christian Science proved that so-called man-made law is powerless. After my first treatment, I saw that it was God's law working, and that it was that for which I had been searching many years. It seemed that I had to be regenerated, although my healing at first was like the experience of the lame man who was laid daily "at the Beautiful gate of the temple." The Biblical record tells us that the people "were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him." When I had my first healing, the people were filled with "wonder and amazement" at what had happened to me. In about a year Truth had made a "new creature," old things had passed away, and all things became new.

A member of the family was suffering as the result of a severe accident; and after a few days' illness he fell into a state of coma, which lasted five days. We had to send for our son, who lives in a distant city; and as he is not interested in Christian Science he insisted that a doctor be called. After the consultation, the verdict was that the patient could live only twenty-four hours. After that he was examined by six other doctors, and they could do nothing for him. He was then healed through Christian Science treatment. That was six years ago, and he is today in normal health.

We are all profoundly grateful for God's most gracious gift to mankind, Christian Science; also to the Discoverer and Founder of this truth, Mary Baker Eddy.
