In gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me I write this testimony.

In April, 1916, after having abdominal, nose, and throat operations by two surgeons, I was advised to go away for a complete change, as I was very weak, having suffered from headaches and laryngitis for months after the operations. While away I became interested in Christian Science, and on my return home I went to my first Christian Science Wednesday evening testimony meeting. I wish I could describe what that service meant to me. I thought the silent prayer was eloquent. This experience was the turning point in my life. After the service I asked to see a practitioner, and the next morning she gave me a present treatment and I received an instantaneous healing.

I borrowed a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy from the Reading Room and read it for two days, and then asked my husband for a book of my own. Never shall I forget the happiness of owning that book. Daily I read and studied, and a few years later my husband also became interested and had a marvelous healing of a desperate case of eczema, after three physicians had admitted that they could do no more for him. We were happy and radiant with joy to know of the divine Love that purifies, uplifts, heals, and gives a sense of freedom, and we thanked God for the sure evidences of His love which we received daily.
