true understanding of God brings real comfort to the individual who is gaining it, and to all who are touched by its helpful influence.

A while ago there appeared in your paper several articles by a clergyman attacking Mary Baker Eddy, Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, and purporting to "expose" this religion as a dangerous doctrine.
Your issues of January 7 and February 13 contain articles which discussed Mary Baker Eddy and the religion she founded.

A book review in a recent issue of your paper states that an author has analyzed the lives of Franz Mesmer, Mary Baker Eddy, and Sigmund Freud, and would imply that their teachings are similar.
A correspondent makes some remarks on Christian Science which, for the benefit of your readers, seem to call for some comment.
Christian Science
teaching follows the precept of Christ Jesus that spiritual aims and activities are of paramount importance, and at the same time the practicality of Christian Science is shown in its application to all human problems, including government and its elections.

in their own homes many human beings feel oppressed by a nameless loneliness which no human companionship can fully solace.

Christian Science was recommended to my wife some nineteen years ago by a neighbor who suggested that it might help us with our first baby, then a few months old, who was a source of great anxiety to us both.
In gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me I write this testimony.
I have so much for which to be thankful to Christian Science that I wish to offer this testimony with the hope that it will convey at least a small part of my gratitude.

Three and a half years ago, with my brother and a friend, I attended for the first time a Christian Science Wednesday evening testimony meeting.
