In the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"...

South China Morning Post

In the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the chapter on Prayer (p. 1), begins as follows: "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God,—a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love." To students of Christian Science a spiritual understanding of God is education in the highest sense, and they are increasingly proving that this type of prayer heals the sick and the sinning without recourse to any other method.

The truth of the words, "He who prays thinks more of the power of God than of his own weakness; thus he wins where another who does not pray fails," is borne out in Christian Science practice. Students of Christian Science find that when they realize the omnipotence—and more than that, the omnipresence, omniscience, and omniactivity of God, of Love, they are able to overcome sickness and sin.
