Over twenty years ago I was instantaneously healed of consumption through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

After I had been fighting the disease and going from place to place for relief, a great sorrow and loss had come into my life, bringing me down to the very brink. Three of the best lung specialists in the city where I was living at that time told me I might live two months. This I welcomed, as I thought I had nothing to live for. At that time a neighbor of the lady I was living with on moving away left this message for me: "Tell that little woman to try Christian Science." When I inquired how I should go about it, I was told to buy Science and Health and read it. Now, the latter part of the title, "Key to the Scriptures," was what most interested me, as I had no hope of getting well or desire to do so, but I did want to know more about God before I had to go to "meet Him," as we were taught in the old way. So I said, "Is it truly a 'key' to the Scriptures?" And when told it was, how eagerly I bought and read it in connection with the Bible, which I never could seem to understand before. Then, to my surprise, I found that God was right here — I did not have to go anywhere to meet Him; that He was a God of love, also, who sends no sickness, sorrow, or loss to His children. The understanding of that great love healed me; and since that time Christian Science has been my only physician, and has met my every need. I was healed of a sprained and dislocated ankle in two days; of influenza in one treatment; and lack and many business problems have been beautifully overcome.

For all of these healings I am indeed grateful, and also for membership in The Mother Church, and for clear, loyal class teaching. above all, I wish to express my sincere appreciation for our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, whose love and unselfishness gave to the world this understanding that makes men free and proves God's protecting care for all mankind.
