It was twelve years ago that I first heard of Christian Science. In the intervening years I have had a multitude of blessings, for which I thanks God from the bottom of my heart; and I now feel impelled to testify to them.

As a girl I suffered many years from partial paralysis and periodic weakness resulting from a poisonous snake bite. The doctors could not help me. A lung trouble had also developed, with which I had to struggle for many years. Physicians had me taken to a sanitarium, but the trouble was aggravated and my condition was grievous. I was supposed to go back there, but I refused. Meanwhile I had married. My husband was on active service, and I had to struggle hard with loneliness. For five long years I sought every possible means of healing for our only child, who had an ugly eruption which the physician said was due to a condition of the blood and was incurable under medical care. The condition grew worse and worse, and the child cried day and night.

Unforgettable is the day when I first talked with a Christian Science practitioner and she worked for me, for I could no longer endure the sight of the child or the crying. After the conversation our son slept the first time in weeks of suffering, and the deep-felt peace was unspeakable. I bought the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, read it eagerly, and was healed of the chronic poison manifestation through the reading.
