When I look back on the years since Christian Science came into my life, I am moved with deep gratitude to divine Love, which has led me in such wonderful ways.

I had a complete physical and mental breakdown. This caused me to turn earnestly to Christian Science, of which I had heard some time before, but which had, sadly enough, remained to me a matter of no concern. After the death of my dear mother life seemed to me empty and savorless, and I fell into deep melancholy. Besides this, great inharmony harassed me in my professional work. In deepest despair I asked a Christian Science practitioner for treatment, and after a short time the darkness which had veiled my true consciousness lifted. My deep gratitude and awakened interest spurred me on to turn whole-heartedly to this Science; and with my growing understanding doubt and erroneous thinking were vanquished.

It is my greatest desire that this new understanding of God, as revealed to us by Mrs. Eddy, may ever abide in me. Though the way may seem thorny at times, I know now that ever present Love has given us the sure promise, "Fear thou not; ... I will help thee." A deep sense of happiness fills me to-day that I have found this way of understanding God, the only way which can free men from the slavery of mortal belief and reveal to them the bright heights of the freedom of the children of God.
