The Lectures

Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, Canada (auspices First Church, Winnipeg).

Lecturer: W. Stuart Booth; introduced by Ernest L. Buchanan, who said: —

A Christian Science lecture is always a happy occasion; for one reason it enables those who give it to share with others the message of good which such a lecture brings. To many people burdened with worldly cares and troubles it has been the beginning of new hope, new courage, even the beginning of a great mental regeneration. In the first chapter of James we read, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights." Unnumbered thousands the world over are gratefully testifying that through the teachings of Christian Science they are learning to know God as infinite good; learning to know Him as unchanging Love, who does not send afflictions upon His children, but blesses, heals, and saves. This practical knowledge is to them indeed a priceless gift.
