I gratefully acknowledge some of the many blessings I have received through the study and application of Christian Science. In The Christian Science Journal of September, 1916, there appeared a testimony of my healing through mental surgery. That was my first great proof of the healing power of Christian Science. Since then it has been my daily help and comforter under all circumstances. I am especially grateful for the outcome of a more recent experience, the healing of what is called erysipelas, on my head and face. The condition came on very suddenly, and for three days I was unable to see or to think. Work was done by a faithful Christian Science practitioner, and a beautiful healing resulted, with no other after effect than the loss of all my hair. Being advanced in years I often heard the thought expressed that I could not expect my hair to grow again. But "with God all things are possible," and His ideas can lose nothing good. The same power that restored my health also restored my hair in a very short time, and much better than it was before.
Many beautiful and helpful passages from the Bible and from Mrs. Eddy's writings poured into my consciousness when I was able to think again. One that was particularly comforting is found on page 3 of "Pulpit and Press" by Mrs. Eddy: "Know, then, that you possess sovereign power to think and act rightly, and that nothing can dispossess you of this heritage and trespass on Love."
I should also like to mention a healing of rheumatism in my hands which had troubled me for many years. By learning that God is the source of my supply, that He knows my every need and does supply it, I have been healed to a great extent of worry and anxiety for the future.
