Love

How deep Love is!
So deep that if brother's grief or sin
Should seem unfathomed,
Love's depth would fold him in
The everlasting arms that
Underneath are strongly tender.

How wide Love is!
So wide that all of humankind
Are held within its sweet embrace —
No one too far to find
That sheltering wings that brood
Are gently tender.

How high Love is!
So high that no petitioner's desire
Can soar beyond the promises
That ever higher
Beckon him upward —
Holy and tender.

How near Love is!
So near that neither fear nor ill
Can dwell within thy thought,
But nearer still,
The voice that whispers comfort is —
Healing and tender.
