Strength in Right Thinking

Christian science is a practical religion, which can be used at all times and in all places: in the home, on the school campus or athletic field, and in business. Christian Science shows us how to work and play harmoniously with other people, because it teaches us how to think rightly about ourselves and others. A promise in the ninety-first Psalm reads: "He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone." Christian Science teaches that these protecting angels are always present, for they are good thoughts belonging to ever present divine Mind.

In order to make these good thoughts our own, we must not only want them but must also listen for them. There might be the most wonderful music "on the air," but unless we turned on a radio we should not hear it; and as far as we were concerned, it would not exist. The good angels of right thinking are present wherever we are, whatever we do; and when we make them our own, they guide and protect us from evil.

A verse in one of our hymns reads:
