It is with deep gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me that I send this testimony.

I had been sick for about three years and a half. Two years and a half of this time I was in bed and entirely helpless, due to extreme nervousness and heart trouble. I also had very severe sick headaches and bad stomach and intestinal trouble. I was never able to have company. One day my sister who had been taking care of me was taken sick, so my husband asked a neighbor to come and look after me for a few days. One day, when I said to her that I did not believe I ever would get out of bed again, as the doctor did not give me much encouragement any more, she asked if I had ever tried Christian Science. That was the first time I knew she was a Christian Scientist. I asked her some questions, and she answered them to my satisfaction. Finally I told my husband I should like to have him read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy to me each evening. He did so, and in a short time I could see that I was getting stronger.

My neighbor kept urging me to get a practitioner, but it just seemed as though I must have a doctor. However, my husband kept on reading Science and Health to me, and I was getting more interested in it all the time. We continued in this way for about three months; then one day I decided I would have a practitioner. Just five weeks after I had the practitioner I was out of bed and walking around the house and waiting on myself. I did not have any great trouble in walking, but I used a cane for a very short time.
