For years I have been a recipient of the blessings...
For years I have been a recipient of the blessings, moral, financial, and physical, which are the heritage of every loyal and earnest student of the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy. Like many others, I did not seek the healing ministrations of the Christ until I was driven by ill health and utter discouragement to seek comfort and solace in a higher power than that which materiality has to offer. For several years prior to taking up the study of Christian Science I was subject to hemorrhages which lasted for days and constantly kept me in a depleted condition. This was accompanied by great depression and mental darkness, from which I was seldom free, and which frightened me more than the physical condition. Limitation seemed to face me on every hand. Three physicians out of four whom I called on told me that an operation would be necessary before the condition could be remedied. A similar operation several years before had only made matters worse. Somehow I knew that my difficulty was not from the body; and this was proved to me when a loving friend handed me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I read it for hours every day; and at the end of two months the condition had improved so much that I knew I not only had found the solution to my own problems but had something to offer my family, who were in great need.
About this time my husband and I were attacked with influenza and had our first treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. Both our healings were instantaneous; and from that time I have continued the earnest study of Mrs. Eddy's teachings. During this time I have witnessed the healing of selfishness, discontent, unhappiness, and loneliness in members of my own household.
For the loving and tireless help of practitioners; for all the channels which our consecrated Leader provided for our progress and unfoldment, such as membership in a branch church and The Mother Church, and for class instruction, I am deeply grateful.
