The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

SCHORNDORF, GERMANY (Society).

Lecturer: Richard J. Davis; introduced by Hermann Müller, who said:—

"Truth is revealed. It needs only to be practised," writes Mrs. Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 174). Those who have felt the healing and hallowing influence of Christian Science on themselves, and have seen it on others, remember with profound gratitude these words of our revered Leader. When I first heard of this religion nearly twenty years ago, I was unacquainted with the Bible, and it did not appeal to me. I stood estranged, and kept aloof from the church to which I belonged. Being dissatisfied with what I saw as the practice of Christianity in daily life, I endeavored to lead a life according to the rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." In Christian Science I learned that this was the Golden Rule from the Sermon on the Mount: "Whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them."
