A Christian Scientist
once found himself on a Wednesday evening in a small town where there was no branch of The Mother Church.
In
an age when aviation is becoming so widely known, thought naturally turns to the contemplation of flying.
"Your
joy no man taketh from you," Jesus told his disciples; and we who accept his words as applicable to his followers in every age can prove that joy and every other spiritual quality are exempt from robbery by mortal belief calling itself either person, place, or thing.
It
is natural for individuals to express in their actions their state of thought.
One
rainy Saturday afternoon a stranger entering a Christian Science Reading Room proceeded to make known his needs to the one in charge.

In a report of a sermon entitled "Faith Healing, an Estimate and a Criticism," in your issue of July 18, there was a mistaken reference to Christian Science practitioners; and I should appreciate an opportunity to say a little regarding subjects related to spiritual healing.
In your issue of Friday, December 5, there appeared the report of a meeting of the Loughborough Debating Society, at which some reference was made to "Christian Science," "faith healing," and "illusion.
A professor points out that he has tried for many years "to probe the secrets of Christian Science," and says that "it was almost impossible to get at facts.
As the reference to the attitude of Christian Scientists towards evil in your issue for July gives a wrong impression, I feel sure you will welcome a brief correction.
Why
do Christian Scientists insist so strongly on the importance of understanding God?
In
his epistle to the Romans Paul writes in the eighth verse of the thirteenth chapter, "Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

Correspondents with The Christian Science Board of Directors and with the Clerk and Treasurer of The Mother Church, and with heads of departments of The Mother Church Offices, are requested always to place their addresses on their letters and to write their signatures plainly.

To insure that complete lecture notices be printed in the Sentinel, detailed information should reach the Editorial Department regarding lectures in the United States and Canada, at least four weeks before the date of the lecture; in Great Britain and Ireland, at least five weeks before; in other European countries, at least eight weeks before.
