My Prayer

God , Father-Mother, All,
Oft as Thy truth I humbly, truly, seek,
Rend Thou the seeming veil 'twixt me and Thee.
May I Thy holy Word, by action meek,
Prove, understand, Life's guiding star to be.
And when repeatedly my thought-steps stray
Into wide paths of sense-allure, black night,
Thy help to guide my steps aright, I pray,
Into the way of Truth and Love and light.
And may each truant-wandering afield
Narrow its scope and lose its sensuous urge,
Till thought of sickness and of death be healed,
And Mind from sin my erring sense shall purge,
Thou, God, my All-in-all.
