Current Notes

Columbus Ledger

Columbus, Georgia (First Church).—Construction work has now been started on the first complete unit of a new church building to be erected by First Church of Christ, Scientist, Columbus, at Wynnton Road and Blandford Avenue. This unit, which will include separate rooms for Readers, a directors' room and distribution room, will be used for all the purposes of the congregation. Later, on the erection of the main unit for the church, the building now being erected will be used for Sunday school purposes, it is stated. The lot on which the building is to be erected was purchased about five years ago. It is two hundred by one hundred and two feet. The new building is to be rushed to early completion. It will be of brick construction, fireproof, with rough texture finish.—Columbus Ledger.
