So many proofs have been given me that Christian Science is the Comforter promised by Jesus that in gratitude I desire to tell a little of what it has done for me. I first heard of Christian Science over twenty years ago, when my mother turned to it for relief from an extremely nervous and despondent state of thought. During these years she has received much help along this line, and through her many others have been led to the healing truth and have been healed of many difficulties, including tuberculosis of the bone and cancer.

As a child I suffered a great deal from billiousness and stomach trouble. I was helped many times by Christian Science treatments, but a complete healing did not take place until I learned to do some work for myself. For the past four years I have had no return of this trouble. In 1922 I went to a physician for a physical examination in order to use a Y. W. C. A. swimming poo. The fear of a goiter had been with me for some time, and this fear had not been corrected; so it was not surprising that, as in the case of Job, the thing "I greatly feared" came upon me. The physician told me that the goiter was in a serious condition, and also that I had high blood pressure and should undertake no hard or strenuous work. I found myself after that in a condition where I had to turn radically to Christian Science for help. I thought several times that I was free from this state of thought; but each time I found myself with a new group of people I became conscious of it, and the goiter again became troublesome. The fact that it was caused by fear alone, and that "perfect love casteth out fear," was finally made so clear to me through the loving help of a Christian Science practitioner that, about six years ago, the growth disappeared, and there has been no sign of it since. I have been able to carry on classes in the gymnasium for the past five years with no ill effects.

I am grateful to God, and also to Mrs. Eddy for her wonderful book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," which is surely leavening the thought of the world. I am grateful for the Christian Science periodicals, for membership in The Mother Church and in a Christian Science Society. I have gained a great deal of good through the privilege of acting as a Reader in a society, and especially through the preparation of the Wednesday evening lessons.
