I did not seek Christian Science for physical healing but...

I did not seek Christian Science for physical healing but because I was very unhappy, and had lost faith in myself and others. At this time my thought turned to one who had had a physical healing through Christian Science, and I asked him if Christian Scientists knew how to pray. His reply was, "They certainly do." The "Daily Prayer" from the Manual of The Mother Church (Art. VIII, Sect. 4) was given to me; and also a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. My need for comfort was so great that I hardly let this book out of my hands, and read it the greater part of each day. After reading for four months I told a practitioner how I was suffering from hemorrhage and had been for several years, a physician insisting that I must submit to an operation if I wanted to be strong and well. I received an instantaneous healing during the conversation.

From this time my health steadily improved, my weight increased, and all associated with me noticed the change in appearance and the different outlook on life which had replaced irritable complaining and pessimistic remarks. Constipation and neuralgia disappeared at this time also. I have since been quickly healed of grief at the passing on of a loved one.

I should like to tell of a demonstration of supply. The head member of my husband's firm passed on, and circumstances pointed to the dissolving of the business, loss of time and money, until the others could get started again, and possible loss of some of the trade. I was asked to do all I could to help the situation. I went to the Reading Room, and while working mentally was led to read an article in the February, 1930, Journal, entitled "The Shunammite of To-day," and to consider the mental steps this great woman took in destroying the material evidence as to the death of her child. My thought became so clarified that I left the Reading Room with the assurance that all was well. In less than a week the business changed over to the other members at a fair price, and there was no loss of time, money, or trade.
