I desire to express my appreciation of Christian Science,...

I desire to express my appreciation of Christian Science, through which I have been uplifted many times during the past twenty-one years. The first healing I witnessed was one of drunkenness. This healing was instantaneous and permanent, although the person had been afflicted with the habit for many years. The desire came to be rid of this terrible drinking, and Mrs. Eddy tells us that "desire is prayer" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 1). I now know that true prayer is answered.

About eleven years ago my husband passed on, leaving me with two small children to bring up; and combined with a heavy financial burden the problem seemed too difficult for me. An "angel" appeared through a Christian Science friend who visited me and convinced me that I could go on right where I left off. This has been proved true. My boys of sixteen and thirteen years have never tasted medicine, although they have experienced measles, chicken pox, colds with fever, whooping cough, and mumps.

For the privilege of serving the Cause; for class instruction, membership in The Mother Church, pioneer work in one of its branches, being able to subscribe to the literature, and many other activities, I am truly grateful.
