In Revelation 12:11 we read, "They overcame him [the great dragon] by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony." I should like to give my testimony of the wonderful healing power of Christian Science, in the hope that it may help overcome the dragon of fear and doubt that may be trying to kill the truth as it is born in some consciousness.
My family and I have had many healings through Christian Science, including healings of malaria, enlarged spleen, congestion, granulated eyelids, diphtheria, and erysipelas. In fact, Christian Science has been our only remedy for every discord for many years. But I should like to tell of a very wonderful healing we had more recently. While I was taking an automobile trip with my two little girls, my car was overturned and rolled completely over, landing upright in a field by the highway. Two of the windows were broken, as well as several glass jars of fruit I had in the back of the car. I received only minor injuries, as did the little girl who was on the front seat with me, but the child on the back seat was severely cut just over the left eye. The left side of her face was badly bruised, and she had bitten her tongue through.
A crowd quickly gathered and all kinds of loving offers of help were given, including iodine and a car to take us to the nearest town for medical treatment. The child resolutely refused both, for, though only seven years old, she had seen God's power to heal and was clinging steadfastly to His presence then. I said I thought I could go on if they could get our car back on the highway. The way those men got into the mud (it had been raining for several hours) and pushed the car back up the embankment proved that Love was indeed near. The car was only slightly damaged, so we were soon ready to go. Before we started, however, one man said: "That child's head must be sewed up. I am a physician, but I have none of my instruments with me; you can take her to some doctor in the next town." I told him that I would see to it, but held steadfastly to the thought that God is our physician. We were soon on our way again, and I began working as we are taught in Christian Science. In a few minutes the child said she was entirely free from pain. I had one hundred and forty miles to drive. The sister I was to visit is an earnest Christian Scientist, so when, on our arrival, her children began to remark on the child's looks, she sielnced them instantly with the declaration, "There are no accidents in divine Mind," and quickly tied a cloth over the worst of the wounds. The child rested well that night and the following day played with the other children all day, though she could eat nothing solid. By the next day she could eat anything she pleased, and the wound over the eye had drawn together till it looked like a scratch; within a week there was almost no evidence of the injury.
