Over thirteen years ago an opportunity came to me to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. All I knew of Christian Science was that it was a religion whereby the sick were healed without medicine. I did not know that anyone ever had been healed or could be healed by reading this book. I read it out of curiosity to see what Christian Science was. Before I had finished reading the book I was healed of Bright's disease, backache, severe pains in the head which had caused my hair to turn white, stomach trouble, and quinsy sore throat. How or when I was healed I did not know. I was so interested in what I was reading that I had completely forgotten about my ills until my husband called my attention to myself one day by saying that I did not seem to be ill any more. I realized then that I was free from all these diseases.

Since then we have had many healings in our home: chicken pox was healed in one treatment, measles and whooping cough in a few days, also rupture, blood poisoning, and colds. While grateful for these healings I am more grateful for the spiritual unfoldment of the Scriptures, the perception of God as divine Principle and man as God's idea, inseparable from Him, incorporeal, and perfect. I am also grateful to Mrs. Eddy for the many channels she has given us through which to work out our salvation, for her books, our periodicals, our church activities, class instruction, and Association meetings. It is a joy as well as privilege to have had class instruction from a loyal teacher.
