I wish to express my gratitude for a recent healing

I wish to express my gratitude for a recent healing. My foot was poisoned and badly swollen. I tried to help myself, as we are taught in Christian Science, but it seemed to get worse, and the fear of having to give up my work made me think that I should ask for help. I had a very busy week and looked forward to Sunday, so that I might rest and also attend the church service. As I was getting ready for church I was called to go to someone for a few hours. At first I said "No," but then I decided to go, not very graciously, and with a feeling of resentment because I was not able to go to church, where I knew I would obtain help. On the way I knew that if I were to be of any assistance I would have to manifest love and kindness instead of resentment; and in trying to do this I was soon able to say, "Not my own, my Father's will." Then I remembered this reference: "It is sad that the phrase divine service has come so generally to mean public workship instead of daily deeds" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 40). I realized then that I would be worshiping God in helping another. Arriving at my destination I found I was needed very much, and had to stay all day. The next day I discovered that all trace of infection had vanished from my foot and that I did not need to ask for help. This experience clearly proved to me that the giving up of our own will for our Father's will and forgetting self helps another, and that we ourselves receive a blessing.

I am grateful to God, to Mrs. Eddy, and to the loving practitioner who is always ready to help and encourage when called upon, and also for the Christian Science literature.
