I wish to express my gratitude for the great blessings I have received through Christian Science. Sixteen years ago I received the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, as a gift on my wedding day. I took little notice of the book.

During the war my husband was wonderfully guided by omnipotent God. In the beginning of the war he was taken to the front. When he was wounded he remembered the words of his mother, "God is your life," and this truth stopped the bleeding immediately. My husband, in the army from the beginning until the end of the war, dwelt in "the secret place of the most High" and was kept in safety.

Some years later, when I met with great tribulation, and saw that every material power was shaken, I began to be interested in Christian Science. The time came for me to battle, and Truth vanquished the error. It was a long time before I had overcome the fear of death; for this error was very subtle and I was persecuted by it every moment. Sometimes I asked why I had to battle so long.
