The Lectures

GLASGOW, SCOTLAND (First Church).

Lecturer: Peter V. Ross; introduced by Mrs. Marion A. Alves, who said:—

Christ Jesus declared in his Sermon on the Mount, "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," makes this statement on page 2: "The desire which goes forth hungering after righteousness is blessed of our Father, and it does not return unto us void." Christian Scientists are daily proving the truth of these statements, so they rightly conclude they have the truth of which Jesus spoke as the bread "which cometh down from heaven," of which a man may eat and never hunger; and the water of which he spoke to the woman of Samaria, when he said that they who drank of it would never thirst.
