In the eleventh chapter of Matthew Jesus says, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." I like to think of our periodicals going out all over the civilized world and lovingly calling the weary and heavy-laden to Christian Science, inviting them to learn how to follow the Master and so find the rest and peace they need. I have found rest and peace through Christian Science, and send this testimony hoping it will help someone else to find it too.

Through the work of loving practitioners and through my own study and work I am being healed of a false sense of self. I have learned that there is no self but our spiritual self, which is of God; that He is my Life; and that it is possible for me to understand and demonstrate this Life by purifying my thinking.

Many unlovely traits of character have been overcome. Many bodily ills have been destroyed, including nervous prostration with its attendant dismal beliefs, sick headaches of frequent occurrence and of great severity, also frequent colds of long duration, constipation which a physician said could not be healed on account of adhesions, and for which he advised the constant use of medicine. Glasses for reading and for all close work have been given up. Christian Science is enabling me to have peaceful sleep and a happy awakening, whereas for many years I experienced restless nights and depression in the morning. Before coming to Christian Science I held the belief that life was in the body and ceased at death. At times this thought was so overwhelming that I was filled with terror; but the beautiful healing truth has destroyed that condition, and I have learned to understand what Mrs. Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 200) : "Life is, always has been, and ever will be independent of matter; for Life is God, and man is the idea of God, not formed materially but spiritually, and not subject to decay and dust."
