From childhood I suffered from excruciating backache for which I underwent an operation, but with no relief whatsoever. Several years later I sought treatment from a Christian Science practitioner, with the firm conviction that God would heal me; and in two treatments I was completely and permanently healed. Through the unfailing help of the same practitioner, I have been permanently healed, among other things, of so-called chronic severe headches, appendicitis, and insomnia. I should also like to express my gratitude for a complete and permanent healing of goiter which was accomplished in four treatments. I am grateful beyond words that I am now experiencing the peace "which passeth all understanding." Because of the erroneous belief of an indomitable self-will, my journey from sense to Soul to begin with was slow, entailing years of persistent, systematic study of the teachings of our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Dominion over this error was not attained until my full acceptance of her statement contained in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 536) that "the divine understanding reigns, is all, and there is no other consciousness."

I am also grateful for church membership, for all the activities of the Christian Science movement, for the consecrated work of our practitioners, for class instruction, and to our beloved Leader for the divinely inspired teachings contained in her writings, through the earnest study of which I demonstrably know that "perfect love casteth out fear."
