Over two years ago I found the way to Christian Science through a dear relative. Even though I had formerly believed in God and had put my hope in Him, I did not know the beautiful truth that God is ever present; that He operates in harmony; that He is being revealed continually, and that He frees us from sin, disease, and death. Before I knew about this true religion, which heals, I was suffering from heart disease, which manifested itself in stagnation of the blood and pain in my hands, so that my fingers were often quite stiff and without sensation, and I could not even wear my wedding ring.

Joyously and with great hope I went to a Christian Science practitioner and asked for treatment, which was at once lovingly given. After the first treatment I was free from these inharmonious conditions. I was, and still am, inexpressibly grateful for this quick help. A growing understanding taught me how to watch and purify my consciousness. Fear, worry, and a quick temper have disappeared, and joyousness, lightness of heart, and love of mankind have entered my consciousness. Glasses, which I had been obliged to wear for a long time when reading and writing, have been laid aside.

For all the blessings I have received, praise and thanks be to our Father-Mother God! I am grateful that I was privileged to recognize "the way, the truth, and the life" through Christ; and I think with love and reverence of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who revealed to mankind anew the Christ, Truth. My daily wish is expressed in the words of our Leader (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 397; Poems, p. 14), "Shepherd, show me how to go."
