Four years ago I suffered from a very painful foot trouble which made it almost impossible for me to perform my household duties. I went from one doctor to another, and each one diagnosed a different ailment and prescribed different remedies, but not one of them could help me. Discouraged and depressed, I anticipated a life full of hindrances and difficulties.

In this time of great mental and physical need God's love led me to Christian Science. Through the faithful, unselfish work of a dear practitioner to whom I turned for help I was soon healed. This healing filled my heart with profound gratitude and great joy. Through the study of the Bible and of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, rheumatism and indigestion were very soon healed. Since I had suffered from these complaints for more than twenty years, I had always looked upon them as something that must be endured. A helpless arm was healed when I recognized false ambition to be a sin, hence unreal. Truth has also healed me of the thought that I did not have enough time, a belief which limited my work in a high degree. Through the realization of the allness of Love and the harmony and order of being, I have recovered articles which had been lost. But, above all, Christian Science has gradually changed my thinking and striving in such a manner that confidence, joy, and brotherly love have assumed their rightful place in my consciousness, where formerly pessimism and fear reigned.

I am profoundly grateful for all these healings and experiences. I thank God, our all-loving Father-Mother, that He revealed anew to Mrs. Eddy the Christ, Truth, and that unselfishness and purity enabled her to present the Christ-teaching in a language that mankind can understand. I also wish to express my sincere gratitude to the practitioner for her loving and patient guidance on the way from sense to Soul. I think with deep reverence of the Master, Christ Jesus, who sought, lived, and taught the truth for all of us.
