Christian Science has Changed the whole course of my...
Christian Science has Changed the whole course of my life. The parable of the prodigal son describes my experience. I had indeed wandered into "a far country;" and how the Father welcomed me though I was still far off!
I was told by three oculists that I would never be able to lay aside glasses as one eye was almost blind. I had constant headaches. A relative asked me if I wanted her to help me in the Christian Science. I said I did, for I was willing to try anything. I was healed in two weeks. This healing took place over twelve years ago, before I was a student of Christian Science. It has been permanent, and I use my eyes constantly.
I was in bondage for many years to a false appetite supposed to be hereditary. It had caused me much sorrow and I despaired of ever being free. I tried everything except a "cure," for I had known such "cures" to fail so often that I felt it was useless to try one. I was always looking for God and praying to know Him, but thought of Him as a glorified mortal. I attended many churches, some for periods of several years, but I could not find God in them. I suffered from a very bad temper and sullen and morose disposition, and I had been doctoring for four years for a so-called incurable disease. At the end of this time a test showed I was worse than when I began. If I discontinued these treatments the doctor said terrible things were liable to happen. Then I experienced a great sorrow, and all the worldly things I had been seeking turned to dust and ashes.
