Because I have been helped so many times by reading...
Because I have been helped so many times by reading the testimonies in the Sentinel, I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science in the same way.
Though accepting the teachings of an orthodox church, I was often puzzled about many things. Then, when my children were old enough to ask questions and I found that I could not answer them, I felt the need of searching further, and I found that the teachings of Christian Science amply met my needs, both mental and physical.
One healing in particular I should like to tell about. One summer, while our girls were at camp, I received a telephone call telling me that one of them had apparently broken her arm. I sent word to her that a Christian Science practitioner would work for her, and that she must know she was being cared for. In the morning the arm and shoulder were very much swollen and black from the neck down. The nurse put the arm in splints and sent her home. We made an appointment to have a doctor set the arm, but after examining it, and showing us the pictures of it, he said he found it in perfect condition. Not a mark remained, and the blackness and swelling had entirely disappeared. During this time the girl had not expressed any thought of fear. In twenty-four hours she was back in camp teaching her classes; and this involved very strenuous work.
