The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Waco, Texas (First Church).

Lecturer: Dr. Hendrik Jan de Lange; introduced by Earle E. Bruck, who said:—

The question is often asked, What is Christian Science? The reply might be that it is a religion of right thinking—a religion which has a very reasonable concept of God, of God's laws, and of his reflection, man. Christian Scientists believe in a God who is omnipotent, and whose power is ever present and ever available for the eradication of sin and the cure of pain or distress of any sort. Christian Scientists know that this correct view of God and of His laws, when properly understood and correctly applied, helps and heals, irrespective of who or where one may be, or what one's daily activity may be. I can truly testify to the healing efficacy of Christian Science as taught in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. During the many years I have been interested in Christian Science I have experienced many beautiful healings—not only physical, but mental and financial as well. Some of these healings have been wonderful indeed.
