Opportunity for Thanksgiving

In one of the Lesson-Sermons for Thanksgiving Day occurred the text, "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so." How grateful we should be that Mrs. Eddy saw the wisdom of establishing our Wednesday evening testimony meetings, which afford Christian Scientists an opportunity every week in the year to spread the wondrous gospel of Christian Science healing throughout the length and breadth of the land!

If fear, or any of the numerous arguments that may present themselves, has repeatedly kept us in our seats while the stranger within our gates waits to hear "experiences, testimonies, and remarks on Christian Science" (Manual, p. 122), we should resolve with renewed determination to make better use of our opportunities. When we realize our individual responsibility for doing our share in making these meetings all that our Leader hoped they would be, our Wednesday evening meetings will be looked forward to as blessed opportunities to follow the Psalmist's injunction, "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so."

It may not be possible to tell in a few words what Christian Science healing has meant to us, but the opportunity is ever present to prove that healing in the highest sense of the word means not only physical freedom but daily transformation of thought. A regenerated life speaks to all.
