Seven years ago, when I was very unhappy and, according to human opinion, in a very difficult situation, I turned to Christian Science as a last resort. In the truest sense of the word it became my anchor; and to-day I am inexpressibly grateful to God that He led me this way, for thereby I have been freed from all that oppressed me. Formerly, I did not think it possible that Christian Science could ever become such a joyous, vital influence in my life as it has become. I was obliged to lay aside many false traits of character; and that was no easy task, because at first I was not seeking a religion, but rather the fulfillment of my own wishes. It was only gradually that I learned to leave my wishes to God, and joyously to know that as we do so God will conduct all our affairs in the way that is really best for us.

Through the devoted help of a dear practitioner my consciousness was transformed, and thereby conditions became clear and harmonious. I can never be grateful enough to those who, with much patience and love, pointed out the way from sense to Soul. Especially valuable to me is the different concept of life I have gained through an earnest study of this religion of right thinking, and through obedience to its rules. I am very grateful for my growing understanding of God as Principle, and of the infallible, legitimate operation of this Principle, whereby it has been possible to bring about wonderful proofs for myself and others. It is such a relief to know that every difficulty which presents itself to consciousness can be corrected by right thinking, if we joyously subordinate our will to that of God, and endeavor to grow better, to deny material evidence, and to affirm the truth.

I am sincerely grateful for the wonderful organization of The Mother Church, which supplies us with literature so helpful to us, with lectures, and with the Lesson-Sermons. I am also sincerely grateful for the Sunday school, which my son has been attending for over five years; for there he receives the foundations of real knowledge. For the privilege of having had class instruction and of being a member of The Mother Church and a branch church, I am sincerely grateful. Words are inadequate to express my gratitude to God, and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. I am endeavorng to prove my gratitude by my life.
