My attention has been drawn to a book review in your issue of November 8, in which the reviewer said, "The author shows that Jesus was the founder of spiritual healing and not Mary Baker Eddy or any other modern."

Such a comment as the foregoing is adapted to give a wrong impression. Throughout her writings, Mrs. Eddy has consistently connected the practice of Christian Science with the practice of original Christianity. Thus, when founding the Church of Christ, Scientist, she declared its design or purpose as being "to commemorate the word and works of our Master" and to "reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing" (Church Manual, p. 17).
