[Written for the Sentinel]

Truth Unveiled

Child of the Spirit born
Joyous and free,
Thought with the bird pinion,
What dost thou see?

Winging thy eager flight
Far in the blue,
What doth the Infinite
Unveil to view?

This of the Infinite
Clearly I see:
In Spirit's consciousness
Time cannot be.

Birth-pangs and death-anguish
All are unknown;
Man lives, immutable,
Love reigns—alone.

Oh, thought with bird pinion,
Soaring and free,
Much hath the infinite
Unveiled to thee!
