Christian Science has truly changed my concept of life...

Christian Science has truly changed my concept of life from a material to a spiritual basis; and this correct understanding of Life as God has resulted in physical, mental, and financial healings. From my first glimpse of the truth, as discovered and taught by Mary Baker Eddy in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," I have been wonderfully blessed; and not only I, but my husband and our little daughter also.

At the time of our baby's birth I was wonderfully sustained. I had previously been under the care of a physician who had given me no encouragement or hope as to an harmonious outcome. It was in this extremity that my husband and I turned to God, as revealed in Christian Science. Twenty minutes before the child was born the physician, who had been called in obedience to the state law, affirmed that the birth could not possibly take place in less than sixteen hours; but with absent Christian Science treatment everything worked out harmoniously. That was about six years ago. I am stronger now than I have ever been before.

Mrs. Eddy says on page 22 of the Christian Science textbook: "Waking to Christ's demand, mortals experience suffering. This causes them, even as drowning men, to make vigorous efforts to save themselves; and through Christ's precious love these efforts are crowned with success." About a year after the foregoing experience I had steady help for almost six months from Christian Science practitioners, but in spite of the beautiful healings and proofs we had had in our home of God's omnipresence and omnipotence, I sometimes doubted whether I would be healed, and at times I thought I would pass on. But that was mortal mind arguing against "Christ's demand" for more love, more patience, more trust in Truth, and it (mortal mind) was proved impotent. During this experience, for which I am now very grateful, I learned yet more of God, good, as Life, in place of a false material sense claiming to be life.
