Second only to the gratitude which I feel for the fact that the world has been given Christian Science, the thing I shall always be most grateful for is the fact that it has come into my own life. Something over twenty-seven years ago, a member of our immediate family was beautifully healed through Christian Science; and it is for this healing and the faithfulness of the practitioner who handled the case that I owe a never-to-be-forgotten debt of thanks.

For the first two or three years of my life I was considered a very delicate, sickly child; but since the light of this glorious truth dawned in our home, I can safely say that I have enjoyed and am still enjoying excellent health.

I am thankful for having had the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School. By using what was taught to me there and at home I have been able to overcome numerous difficulties, many of these being problems common to school children. One time, when in high school, during a chemical laboratory period at the beginning of the course, we were required to dissolve caustic soda in water. A girl across the table from me got some of this solution on her arm, and it seemed to burn her badly. She went to the teacher and he applied a material remedy and cautioned the rest of the class to come to him at once should a similar thing befall any of us. In a most natural manner the following thought came to me: Mind controls all action, chemical as well as physical. I went on with the work, stirring the solution vigorously. Some of it spattered on my cheek and into one eye. Without the least sense of fear I picked up a towel and dried the cheek just as anyone would do were water splashed on him, and forgot all about the experience. There was not the slightest suggestion of an ill effect from it. Now I can see that the truth declared a few moments before had neutralized the action of that chemical with respect to my physical body.
