I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science...

I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me in the past twelve years. I did not come into Christian Science for physical healing. As a child I attended the Sunday school of an orthodox church, but as I grew older its teaching did not satisfy; so I began going to different churches, including the Christian Science church. After attending several of the Wednesday evening testimony meetings, I arrived at the conclusion that if I ever needed a religion very much I would take up Christian Science, but in the meantime I would have a good time.

The time came when I found myself laboring under the illusion of a mental strain that was almost driving me to distraction, and I decided to see what Christian Science could do for me; so I went into a Christian Science Reading Room and read the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly, the subject being "Adam and Fallen Man." It seemed as if every word of that lesson spoke directly to me; and I left the Reading Room completely healed, and able to eat and sleep, things I had not done for several days and nights. I went back day after day to the Reading Room, thinking that I would not try for physical healing, that it was enough to be healed mentally; but as I read more, and came to understand more about the God who is Love, I wanted physical healing also; and I threw away my pill boxes, of which I had many. I was completely healed of chronic indigestion, constipation, sick headaches, and many other ills, simply by studying the Lesson-Sermons. These healings were positive proof to me of the everyday workableness of Christian Science. I was afterwards healed through the loving help of a practitioner of an injury to the spine.

I am most grateful for all of these healings; but I am more grateful still for the spiritual uplift I have had. I am very grateful that we live in this day and age when Christian Science has been revealed through the beautiful life and teaching of Mary Baker Eddy. It truly fills my life with peace, and joy, and happiness; whereas before, I had an unhappy, moody disposition.
