Almost from childhood I seemed to be practically without God, until I gained an understanding and proof, through Christian Science, that He is, and that He is ever present good, available at all times. I feel that I cannot be grateful enough for this knowledge.
My first healing in Christian Science was of quinsy. While the trouble did not respond quickly, still I knew that I was being healed; but I did not understand how it was being accomplished. I then started studying the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly daily, but I had too long been a doubter to accept or grasp readily the truths I was reading. At least twice I gave up the study, only soon to have another unquestionable healing, and again to resume the study to discover, if possible, how the healing was done.
It was at least two years after I began the study of Christian Science before I more than glimpsed the significance of what I had been reading. Then it dawned on me that to express Life and Love is the necessary outcome of the ever operative divine Principle of the universe; that all intelligence is from the same source, and should be expressed unconsciously and naturally.
