[Original testimony in German]

I wish to express my sincere gratitude for the blessings...

I wish to express my sincere gratitude for the blessings which have come to me in Christian Science. Years ago an abdominal complaint developed after the birth of a child. In time it became so bad that finally I was to undergo an operation. The two physicians we consulted diagnosed the trouble as dropsy and tubercular peritonitis, to which was added pleurisy. The dropsy was met, and the other symptoms healed. Then the operation was to be performed, but I was so weak physically that I was sent away for six weeks to get stronger. At that time I was twenty-five years of age. I was operated on in a clinic, and was discharged after I had been there thirteen weeks. I learned to walk again with crutches and canes.

Then a struggle began with, seemingly, the effects of the operation. My nervous system was so badly shaken that at times I thought I should have to go to a sanitarium for nervous troubles. The rush of blood to the head was indescribable. My back often felt as if it were broken, so that I was able to sit in only a very comfortable chair. For fifteen years I suffered in this manner. Then I heard of Christian Science, and in October, 1925, called on a Christian Science practitioner, who lovingly gave me treatment. Gradually there fell from my eyes "as it had been scales," for I learned that God alone is our great Physician and Healer, and that we can always turn to Him with confidence. Now I am a healthy, contented individual.

I am extremely grateful to God that He showed me the right way, and that I was able to recognize the truth. I am also sincerely grateful to the dear practitioner who helped me in everything; and I am also thankful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who brought this wonderful message of God to mankind.—(Mrs.) Helene Kranz, Lübeck, Germany.
