I have been a student of Christian Science for seventeen...
I have been a student of Christian Science for seventeen years, and the blessings therefrom have been manifold in all ways, physical, mental, and financial. There have been many testing times, which necessitated a firm and radical reliance on God, which never failed; and each experience taught me more of the allness of God and the nothingness of evil. A physical healing which stands out as a proof of the healing efficacy of Truth, even when one's understanding is limited, took place when I was a very young student of Christian Science. Since I have gained a better understanding I realize that it was my willingness to listen to Truth which opened the way to the blessing.
I was awakened one night with a sense of very severe suffering. A practitioner was called, and in a short time I became quiet and went to sleep. In a couple of hours I again awakened free from pain; and I never had a recurrence of that trouble. I have been healed of sick headaches which kept me in bed a day or two at a time; also of varicose veins from which I suffered for months, and of many other physical discords. Another proof of God's abundance of good for all His children came at a time when a certain sum of money was an imperative need and no evidence of obtaining it was visible. Through the realization of the omnipresence of good I proved the verse in Isaiah to be true, "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear."
For all of this I am deeply grateful, and for a better understanding of God and of man as coexistent with God. I am grateful for every avenue our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has provided for the protection and advancement of the Cause of Christian Science. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church; for the privilege of serving as Reader and as a Sunday school teacher; for class instruction from a loyal teacher; and also for the Association meetings, which always bring more unfoldment of all things helpful.
