Christian Science clearly recognizes the presence of disease...
Anderson Herald
Christian Science clearly recognizes the presence of disease as a factor to be dealt with in human experience. It is true that it teaches that disease is not real, in the sense that God has not made it. Jesus did the same: the man with the withered hand had it restored whole as the other; the blind man saw; Lazarus arose from the grave—all because disease was unreal, untrue in the sight of God. Contending in this manner for the unreality of disease is very different from attempting to heal by an unintelligent, willful denial of the existence of disease. It is not uncommon for reputable physicians, finding that they are unable to give their tuberculosis patients, among others, further help, to recommend Christian Science, often with the result that such patients receive permanent healing. I feel that I can speak with some measure of authority, as a member of my immediate family was permanently healed of tuberculosis by Christian Science treatment.
