I took up the study of Christian Science for physical healing. I had two inherited diseases, one a mental trouble — the belief that I could not remember anything; the other, lung trouble. I had an almost instantaneous healing of the mental trouble, and I can now see that it was very necessary to have this healing quickly so that I could remember, and in some degree understand, what I read. I can now remember whatever is good; and that which is not good does not concern me.

When a child I was timid and bashful; I could not even rise in school to give a recitation. I never talked in church in my life until I began to study Christian Science about ten years ago. Had anyone told me that I would ever be able to rise in a congregation and tell what Christian Science had done for me, or to speak even a few words of thankfulness, I would have said, "Impossible!" Now there is never an hour of the day that I do not realize that of myself I can do nothing.

I have often hesitated to tell of this healing at the Wednesday evening testimony meetings. Not long ago a lady came to me and said she was so glad to hear of it, because she was afflicted in a similar manner. I encouraged her to keep on studying the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, practicing what Christian Science teaches, and that she should realize that "with God all things are possible." So we never know who the stranger may be that is waiting for a crumb of comfort from Christ's table to meet a human need.
