In a recent issue of the Maryborough Chronicle an evangelist is reported as imputing that Christian Science presents a false Christ and that it robs its adherents of the preciousness of Christ Jesus. To the unprejudiced reader of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, a lucid and beautiful explanation of the Messianic mission of Jesus is presented. Of Jesus' Christliness there is no doubt; the divinity of Christ is unquestionable; and Jesus came in fulfillment of prophecy. To say that Christian Science does not recognize Christ Jesus as he should be recognized is to express an opinion without any foundation. It can be rightly claimed for Christian Scientists that their love, reverence, and obedience to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, is being practically demonstrated in carrying out his commands in preaching the gospel, saving the sinner, and healing the sick.
