"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see...
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." I have been helped so many times by this light expressed by others that I wish to express my gratitude before the world for what Christian Science has done for me and mine during the past ten years. It has met many needs, physical, mental, and financial. It is teaching me every day to prove the truths of the Bible—the truth which makes us free from every sense of error, whether manifested in sin, pain, or discord of any kind. It is helping me to overcome the sins which so easily beset us, such as fear, resentment, selfishness, and passing unrighteous judgment, which if not overcome will make us servants of sin.
I have had and have witnessed healings of tonsillitis, influenza, lumbago, all the children's diseases, sprains, bad cuts, and burns. I have felt God's protection, and much peace, in time of trouble and worry, from the reading of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and from songs in the Christian Science Hymnal, from the literature, and from the loving help of the practitioners.
One healing for which I am extremely grateful was in the case of childbirth. Convulsions set in, and I was unconscious for four days. The attending physician said the child would not live and doubted if I would. But by the faithful work of the practitioner we were able to glorify God, whom we have found to be an ever present help in all troubles. The child is a healthy girl, now five years old. In ten days after the birth I was up doing all my own work for a family of seven.
